Forestale Review ♥

It’s been forever since I’ve actually taken time to do an OOTD/haul post so I figured I’d kill two birds with one stone and review the most recent shop I’ve purchased from, Forestale.

So a little background info: Forestale is an online store based in the Philippines that caters to the mori girl lifestyle. It’s filled with up-cycled clothes at really, really affordable prices. I found this store through the Ohyeahmorigirl Shoplist, and probably wouldn’t have checked it out if it hadn’t been placed under the US shops accidentally (It’s since been fixed). Luckily, they do International Shipping so I didn’t get my hopes up for nothing haha.

Each article of clothing has its own special name picked out for it, and I wish I had written down the name for this dress I bought, but ahhh little details like that really make me smile. I placed my order on June 10th, and received en e-mail that my items had been shipped June 13th and should expect to come in about two weeks. I received my package on June 26th (almost exactly two weeks). Correspondence was very prompt and friendly. ♥

My order came in thick, plastic packaging that I didn’t photograph, so this is the second layer. The wrapping was very beautiful, but delicate — during the overseas trip there was a tear at the corner (as you can see above). However, the items were packaged in a third layer of plastic, to my relief. 🙂

I purchased a dress that was priced at $8 (most of the clothes are priced around $6 – $10), and the Day Dream necklace at $4. Because of international shipping, S&H was $12, and the order came to $24. Shipping is individually calculated and sent as a second invoice after you place your order, so I ended up paying more than what I had thought I would, HOWEVER. $24 is a pretty amazing price for such high quality items.

The dress is made of printed chiffon with a cream satin lining, gathered very delicately to form an A-line silhouette. The belt used for the photos below are from a different dress that my friend gave me yesterday hahaha (great timing). I was worried about the fit at first because it was a Medium (Asian sizes tend to run a size or two smaller than American sizes) but it was ridiculously perfect. Very lightweight and airy — perfect for summer. 🙂 In terms of quality, up-cycled or recycled/vintage wear tend to exude a “used” feel to it, but this dress smelled and felt brand new. Nothing I needed to stitch up or adjust at all.

Here are some photos of me wearing it, taken today.

Also, just for fun, I wore my favorite contacts hahaha!

I’m extremely pleased with this shop, and will definitely be purchasing from them again in the future. They update their store regularly with one-of-a-kind items — which, honestly, is my favorite type of shop.
