2WK Check-in: Black Sugar Scrub and DIY Pore Strips
Today marks the 2 week checkpoint since I started using my new SKINFOOD black sugar scrub and DIY pore strip routine, so I thought I’d show how my skin has been progressing! Photo under cut.
After 14 days, the amount and size of acne on my face has been reduced, as well as the amount of blackheads! I’ve been using the scrub 1-2 times a day (morning and then night) and the DIY pore strip once a week (though I may bump it up to two times a week). You can see that my eczema around my mouth, however, has gotten bad again after the recent con (lots of makeup and not enough vaseline!) So I have to apply my creams daily again. I was a little sad that the pore strip didn’t take out as many black + whiteheads as I’d hoped, but I read somewhere that you have to exfoliate AND steam your face to open up your pores first before applying it. So I’m going to try that for the next 2 weeks, and then do another checkpoint post to see if that has made any difference!
Again, as I’m sure you’ve read from others, getting your skin back to a healthy state is a long and meticulous process, but it doesn’t have to be. If you build your skincare regimen into your daily routine, rather than dreading the process, it becomes second nature to your lifestyle. I have a long way to go still, but I’m feeling a lot better seeing how much my skin has improved in just 14 days. 🙂 Yay!
