Dark Chocolate Orange Slice & Bake Cookies
As mentioned in an earlier post, Liz and I made a bunch of different kinds of cookies for Valentine’s Day. It actually took us 3 days! I just had so many recipes I wanted to try… Anyways, before starting I asked Daniel what kind of cookies/chocolates he might want, and he mentioned orange/fruit with chocolate. I searched for all kinds of orange/chocolate recipes before deciding on the Dark Chocolate Orange Slice & Bake Cookies recipe from Sally’s Baking Addiction. These happened to be Daniel’s favorite in the end!
Liz and I were floored by how delicious the dough was, even pre-chocolate and sprinkles (and uh, maybe pre-baked too…). I admit we kept doing taste tests up until the chocolate dipping (and after… you gotta check for poison, right?)
I used Ghiradelli’s 60% Cacao chocolate bars for the chocolate, and omitted the coarse sugar (read: forgot to add it). The sea salt at the end was a great touch, as well! I’m not too big on pure sweets, so I like eating anything with dark chocolate or sea salt. I’m so glad that’s all the rage now! More for me.
And if you have some dipping chocolate leftover — you could always make pocky!
